The FFS Coldside Cold Air Intake Upgrade Kit offers visually stunning, high-quality, high performing Cold Air Intake for your Coldside Supercharged Miata! No expense spared, this is the highest quality cold air intake available for a Miata, featuring yellow-zinc coated steel threaded inserts, stainless steel fasteners for the lid, heavy duty CNC construction, custom FFS molded silicone, and exacting engineering. Our FFS Coldside Cold Air Intake Upgrade Kit backwards compatible with all NB FFS Kits (see note below).
The custom sheet metal air box features heavy duty construction and is pre-assembled. It includes provisions to mount both the factory AIT (air temperature sensors) and the factory MAF (mass air flow sensor). The air box perfectly fits behind the passenger side headlight and in front of the stock radiator overflow tank. This is the coldest location in the factory engine bay for a CAI! Our design draws air from the factory opening under the headlight, as well as the area connecting to the large opening in the front bumper, while being shielded from the radiator's hot air.
Custom-made FFS 4 ply silicone is engineered to-the-degree for a perfect fit! The rear silicone bend that connects to the throttle body is custom-made for a perfect-fit to our high-flow 75mm throttle body, using a 3.1" internal diameter instead of a standard 3.0 which is difficult to install.
Our custom-built aluminum hard pipe runs under the supercharger, which features a fresh air port to run to the idle valve as needed. We sized the absolute largest K&N air filter possible, offering minimal restriction and enough CFM to support power levels over 300whp!
We engineered this to contain the MAF and AIT sensor inside the air box, as well as all the mounting bolts for the airbox inside the box. Once you install the lid, you only see the 4 stainless button head bolts on top, maintaining a clean appearance.
You will not find a higher quality, higher performing, aesthetically pleasing CAI for your FFS Miata! No hose going over the valve cover, absorbing heat from both the engine and exhaust! We also maintain plenty of clearance around the oil filter and alternator to allow servicing these as needed.
*Note: If your FFS kit has the EGR bracket running horizontally (not up and down), then to keep the EGR functionality, you will also need our new EGR bracket upgrade kit. Our EGR bracket upgrade kit relocates the EGR valve and leaves space for the CAI pipe to run under the supercharger.
